Nisville 2024:The Richness of Music and Memories

When I think of Nisville, the first thing that comes to mind is its vibrant diversity. It's inevitable – a blend of different musical genres, colors, and emotions. At first glance, it might seem like too much all at once, but that’s exactly what makes this festival unique.

My first encounter with the Nisville Jazz Festival was in 2010. As a volunteer, I was part of the team working behind the scenes, and I had no idea back then how important this festival would become in my life. Every year, Nisville has been more than just a festival for me – it was a place where I discovered music, people, and an energy that is hard to put into words.

This vibrant diversity is the essence of the festival. Nisville brings together different styles and people, creating a space where everyone can find something for themselves. That’s why this festival has become one of the most attended events in Southern Serbia, and every year, Niš transforms into the center of musical energy and culture.

In 2014, the festival was special because I shared it with my sister Maja. Together, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the music, and those memories have been preserved in photographs. It’s funny how much has changed since then, but Nisville has remained the same – vibrant, energetic, and inspiring.

One of the most memorable moments in my Nisville experience happened in 2016. At a press conference where Al Di Meola was introduced as a guest, I brought my father to play one of his songs. The surprise and delight of the journalists and guests, including Al Di Meola himself, were priceless. That moment was proof to me of how universal music is and how it can connect people in unexpected ways.

And here I am now, in 2024, as an art manager, bringing my daughter Anika to experience the magic of Nisville. Time passes, but the spirit of the festival remains the same. Watching Anika discover music at this place that has meant so much to me over the years, I feel proud to be able to pass on this love to her.

Nisville is not just a festival; it’s the pulse of the cultural identity of the entire region and Serbia. I look forward to every new edition and hope this phenomenon will continue to inspire and connect us for many years to come.

As for the performances I would highlight, Brooklyn Funk Essential impressed me with their energetic performance, and I would especially mention the local band from Kikinda, Les Filles. These talented girls play blues, rock 'n' roll, and soul with such passion that it's impossible not to be impressed. Their energy on stage is contagious, and I’m sure they have a bright future ahead.

Nisville is not just a festival; it’s a part of my life, a place where memories are made and music lives on. I look forward to every new edition and all the new memories I will create.
